There are a mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches on a flat site surrounded by trees, with views of hills. Loads of rabbits around the site. Wardens are friendly.

Facilities:

Toilets, showers, laundry, dishwashing, motorhome service point, dog walk beside river.
T-mobile and Vodafone reception OK

Convenient for a stopover when travelling North/South but also useful to explore the area.It is within easy walking distance of the town.

The Hammerlands centre next door has various animals children can look at/feed.

They also have coarse and fly fishing.

Site reception can supply vouchers giving 20% off breakfast in the Hammerlands cafe (worth a try - we went back for a second go!). Reception also have vouchers for 10% off meals in 2 hotels in town.

The town has pubs, co-op supermarket and assorted other shops including the Moffat Toffee Shop which has row upon row of jars of old fashioned sweets (and also a shelf and a bit of jars of sugar-free sweets if you need them - never seen such a good selection!)

Would we go back - yes, happily.
